i dreamt of walking to some sort of ceremony, along a freeway with mom, pops, anne and some tall gent, like ryan's cousin adam.
early in our walk i was accosted by wasps. wasps unlike any i'd ever seen. they were very plain, with no stripes or markings. for some reason i can't begin to fathom, i was wearing a 'shirt' that was little more than a sports bra, exposing my belly. my bellybutton was a shallow dip in my skin, but as large as a dinner plate. the wasps were getting under where my skin overlapped the 'plate' and laying their eggs! i managed to scoop them all out while trying to remain calm. i only scooped out one, yellow, pulsing, grain of rice sized egg, but that's all there was. then the wasps left me alone. everyone else in my party seemed apathetic to my plight.
our journey continued. along the way, i found a mountain lion cub and carried it around as my little pet. 'isn't that the sweetest face you've ever seen?!' i'd say. he was as soft as egon and stayed pretty still, enduring my affections.
we passed a great estate behind a decorative cement wall and a vast lawn. the house was open and serving as a museum. from the road we could see the antique drawings of all types of catheters and hideous looking probes attached to bags. anne and this adam-type character went in and beckoned mom from the porch. 'mom, you must see this. it's just for you.'
mom was almost angry in her reply 'we must be getting along!'
at last, she made her way toward the house, i followed with my cub, pops stayed behind.
there were glass cases full of specimens of one kind or another and some taxidermied animals laying on their sides. i remember a big horn sheep and perhaps a fawn. the main floor of the house was bright and beautiful but full of these strange, grotesque and unsettling medical and animal displays. mom was fascinated and was telling me about the medical devices.
the end.

i've been dreaming a lot about wild cats as cubs. it's bizarre.
