on npr.org, i stumled upon the blog 'deceptive cadence' and the project they were doing:
what your favorite music says about you.
i thought about it and though i didn't stick to ONE song each, i certainly narrowed it down as best i could. especially the last one.
- What was the first song you ever bought? 'Baby Baby'-Amy Grant.
- What song always gets you dancing? 'Magalehna'-Sergio Mendes
- What song takes you back to your childhood? 'Eye in the Sky'- Alan Parsons Project
- What is your perfect love song? 'I Only Have Eyes For You'-the Flamingos
- What song would you want at your funeral? 'Jump in the Line'-Harry Belafonte
- Time for an encore. One last song that makes you, you. 'Fables of Faubus'-Charles Mingus
- (all the versions i'm finding are the slow version. my favorite version isn't slow.)
- so in addition: 'She Said She Said'-The Beatles
what are yours?
(an overview of this summer and the first days of 'flirty thirty' is on its way. ;) )
